Natalie's struggles with her weight had been progressing from her childhood through high school, but now that she is in college, surrounded by thin, beautiful women, she has begun resorting to extreme measures to keep her weight down. As the viewer observes her meeting with a therapist, they see firsthand the impact her disorder is having on her life and on her being. Mannerisms and speech provide clues to her diagnosis and give a window into the internal struggle.
